Hulda

Collaboration in Hulda: The group came together as a team in the autumn 2008. Members are: Choreographer: Hrafnhildur Einarsdóttir. Performers: Anna Axiotis, Clara Folenius, Ellen Harpa Kristinsdóttir and Eszter Göncz. Music: Atos- Lucas Acuna – guitar, Goncalo Almeida- double bass, Wieland Moeller- drums.

Hulda was originally Hrafnhildur's final project at Laban, there were many guidelines of how one should present their work. Hrafnhildur and the group were very interested working more on that piece, as the guidelines and time limit for the original project didn’t allow those kind of development at that time. The piece was performed again in Iceland 2010.

The inspiration for the work is taken from Icelandic folktales and nature, focusing mainly on the stories about hidden people. The movement material is drawn out of the stories as well as being part of nature, coming in and out of nature. The aim is to build up this specific energy you can find in nature and in these folk stories. The piece doesn't have one story line but rather creates an atmosphere to make the audience curious about this hidden world and allow  people to nurture their imagination and therefore their creativity.
